Savannah wins double header

The Savannah Bananas traveled to Florence, S.C. Wednesday to play a double header against the 1st placed team in the West standings, the Florence RedWolves.
Savannah won the opening game 3-1 and won the second  game 11-4.

Game 1
Savannah scored in the first inning. Logan Mattix,cf(Georgia College) singled, reached second on a walk to catcher Brandon Purcell(Georgia College). A single by Anthony Brocato,lf(St. Johns University) scored Mattix.
With the bases loaded for Savannah in the 5th inning, Purcell walked to score a run. The Bananas addd their 3rd run in the 7th inning.
Savannah's starting pitcher Elliott Forde(W,2-1) (Misericordia) pitched 6 innings, allowed 1run on 5 hits, 2BB, and recorded 3 strike outs. Pitching in relief, Taylor Cox,(S,2) (Charleston Southern) pitched 1 inning, 2K's and did not allow a hit.

Game 2
Savannah banged out 16 hits and won the second game 11-4. Leading hitter for the Bananas was Brocato who was 3-for-4 with a double, home run, 4 RBI's and 3 runs scored. It was his second home run of the season.
Starting pitcher for Savannah, Evan Lovick(BaldwinWallace),(W,2-1), pitched 5 innings, allowed 2 runs on 5 hits, 5 K's, and 3 BB.
