Former Savannah Banana Beau Sulser
Beau Sulser was one of the star players on the 2016 Savannah Bananas team which won the CPL Championship. He was an outstanding pitcher and and compiled amazing pitching statistics. His record was (3-1) and he had an ERA of 1.21. Pitching 44.2 innings he struck out 51 batters. Opponents batting average was a paltry .167.
After the game with the Gastonia Grizzlies on Friday, I talked with Beau and recorded his thoughts about last season and the draft. He was selected in the draft in the 10th round by the Pittsburgh Pirates. Beau reports to the short A season West Virginia Black Bears. He informed me he will be a starting pitcher and probably will pitch his first game in a week to 10 days. Beau will send me updates of his pitching performances and I will pass the information on my blog to the Banana Nation.
