Savannah Bananas 11 Lexington County Blowfish 4

The Savannah Bananas(9-12)  returned home to Grayson Stadium Saturday evening(June 24th) to play the Lexington County Blowfish(6-15). The game was played in front of 4,210 fans- the 10th consecutive home game sold out.
Savannah banged out 13 hits and exploded for 7 runs in the 8th inning to win the game 11-4.
The Blowfish got off to a quick start scoring a run in the 1st inning. Jarred Williams,lf(USC-Lancaster) walked and went to third on a single by Nick Guimbarda,cf(Presbyterian College). Williams scored when Guimbarda was out getting caught in a run down between first and second.
It was a wild 4th inning for the Bananas as they scored 3 runs with 1 hit, 1 walk, and 3 errors.
Lexington scored 2 runs in the 6th inning and added a run in the 9th inning on a home run over the centerfield fence by Dominic Cuoci,1b(Saint Joseph's).
Savannah scored a run in the 6th inning when Logan Mattix,cf(Georgia College) singled and scored on a double by Bryce Fischer,dh(Oklahoma State)
Sending 12 players to the plate in the 8th inning, Savannah scored 7 runs on 8 hits. Getting a hit and driving in a run:

Lexington had 11 hits for the game. They committed 6 errors.
Starting pitcher for Savannah, Braxton Webb,(Grayson College) pitched 4 innings, allowed 1 run on 4 hits, 6 K's and walked 4 batters. Reliever Hunter Phillips(Georgia Southern University) W,2-1 pitched 2 innings, allowed 2 runs on 4 hits, walked 1 and struck out three.
The next home game for Savannah is Wednesday, June 28 against the Florence Red Wolves. It is a double header - the first game starts at noon and is sold out. The second game starts at 6:30 and their are several hundred tickets available.
Matthew Pita was 2-for-4 with 2 runs scored and 1RBI. He raised his average to.375.
