Florence RedWolves 7 Savannah Bananas 4

The Savannah Bananas home opener at Historic Grayson Stadium was played Thursday evening in front of a sold out stadium(it was a record crowd of 4,338). The Bananas hosted the Florence RedWolves. Florence won 7-4.
The RedWolves started the game with a double, single, and a double scoring 2 runs in the first inning.
With the bases loaded in the 4th inning, Max McDougald,3b(Wofford) hit a ground ball to second and an error was charged allowing 2 runs to score.
The Bananas added 2 more runs in the 6th inning. L.J. Talley,1b(University of Georgia) tripled and and later scored on a throwing error by the pitcher. The second run scored on a single by McDougald.
Bananas coach Sean West stated the RedWolves were an excellant hitting ball club and they pounded out 14 hits.
Savannah made a good comeback and made the most of their 5 hits scoring 4 runs.
Leading hitters for the RedWolves: Cornell Nixon,cf(Eastern Kentucky) and Mason Hibbeler,ss(Texas)-both were 3-for-5.
Tomorrow night at 7:05, Savannah plays at Grayson Stadium against the Lexington County Blowfish. It was announced the game is sold out.
