Forest City Owls 8 Savannah Bananas 6

The Savannah Bananas played the Forest City Owls Saturday evening at Grayson Stadium in front of a sold out crowd(4,210. The first 5 Banana home games have been sold out.
Forest City won the game 8-6. Both teams had 10 hits.
The Bananas scored a run in the 1st inning. Christine Hollie,2b(UT-Arlington) walked, stole second and advanced to third on a throwing error by the catcher. A sac fly by L.J. Talley,1b(Georgia) scored Hollie. Savannah scored 3 runs in the second inning-Garry Mattis,rf(Florida Atlantic) doubled with the bases loaded to drive in the 3 runs.
Forest City scored their first run in the 2nd inning when Carson Jones,3b(Lander) led off the inning with a triple and scored on a single by Ryan Kemp,ss(Middle Tennessee).The Owls scored 2 runs in the 4th inning, 2 runs in the 6th inning, and 3 runs in the 7th inning.
In the 8th inning, Savannah scored 2 runs. Brandon Purcell,c(Georgia College) singled and went to second when pinch hitter Thomas Broyles(Dallas Baptist) walked. John Cassala,DH,(Jacksonville) doubled to drive in a run. A sac fly by Utah Jones,ss(UNC) scored the second run.
Leading hitters for the Owls: The always hustling shortstop, Kemp was 3-for-5 with 3 runs scored. Carson Jones was 3-for-5 with 3 runs scored. Leading off the 7th inning for the Owls, Seth Hoagland1b(Iona) hit a home run over the right field fence.
The leading hitters for Savannah were Cassala who was 2-for-4 with 1 RBI and a run scored. Hollie was 2-for-5 with a run scored. Purcell was 2-for-5 with a run scored. Mattis went 2-for-3 with 3 RBI's.
The next home game for Savannah is Wednesday June 14 at Grayson Stadium with a double header against the Gastonia Grizzlies starting at 6:05pm. It was announce that their are some tickets available for fans to purchase.
